Alderway Partnership Capital, a UK investment firm founded by entrepreneur Andy Alderson, has acquired a 100% shareholding in Ingram Installations Ltd, a specialist provider of backup power systems.

The acquisition strengthens Alderway’s commitment to UK power resilience and reflects its continued focus on investing in essential, founder-led Backbone Businesses that underpin the country’s economic and infrastructure resilience.

Building a scaled, professional power-resilience platform

Ingram will continue to operate as a standalone business with Russ Evans stepping up to the role of Director and looking after the day-to-day running of the company. Alderway will be working alongside Russ, and the existing leadership team, to support the next phase of growth, building a business designed to scale, built to last, and trusted in the most critical environments.

Power resilience as a critical priority

Dependable backup power has become increasingly critical for businesses and infrastructure across the UK over the past few years. Grid pressure, rising energy demand, the growth of data centres and logistics networks, have all elevated power resilience to a board-level concern.

At the same time, the energy transition is increasing system complexity rather than reducing risk, making high-quality installation, maintenance and lifecycle support more important than ever.

Ingram operates at the heart of this challenge, delivering reliable power solutions for customers where continuity, safety and compliance are non-negotiable.

Long-term ownership, continuity and stability

Alderway has acquired a 100% shareholding in Ingram, providing clear ownership and long-term stewardship. There will be no disruption to trading, no change for change’s sake, and no short-term exit agenda.

The business will continue under its current leadership team, with Alderway working alongside management to support the next phase of growth.

The focus of the investment is continuity, stability and building on what already works well.

Looking ahead with targeted investment

Looking ahead, Alderway will support Ingram in building a scaled and professional power-resilience platform, with targeted investment across:

  • People, training and capability development

  • Systems, processes and operational excellence

  • Customer experience and service delivery

  • Recurring service, maintenance and lifecycle support

  • The ability to deliver larger, more complex contracts over time

Leadership perspective

Kingsley Ingram, Managing Director of Ingram, said: “I’m incredibly proud of what the team at Ingram has built. Our people, our engineering standards and our relationships with customers are at the core of the business. Alderway’s approach stood out immediately as long-term, values-led and genuinely people-first.

This investment gives us the backing to strengthen the business without losing what makes it special. There’s real alignment around continuity, quality and doing things properly, and I’m excited about what we can build together.”

Alderway’s approach

Andy Alderson, Founding Partner at Alderway Partnership Capital, commented:

“Ingram operates in an area that has never been more important. Power resilience underpins modern infrastructure, from healthcare and data to logistics and industry, and the need for dependable, well-maintained systems is only increasing.

Our experience scaling founder-led businesses, including Vanarama, has shown us the value of investing in people, systems and customer trust over the long term. The same principles apply here. This is about backing a strong team, supporting operational excellence, and building a business that customers and employees can rely on for years to come.”

Commitment to standards and the long term

Alderway’s investment reflects a long-term commitment to the UK power-resilience sector, with a focus on safety, compliance and engineering standards. Customers and staff can expect continuity of service, alongside ongoing investment designed to strengthen capability and improve the overall experience.
